LMT, Inc. (Larry Miller Trucking, Inc.) runs a terminal for SRE (Stony Run Enterprises, Inc) LMT, Inc. has trucks that transport bulk chemicals for chemical companies in the greater Cincinnati, OH area, and an agriculture product company. We are a family run operation. Larry Miller is the terminal manager, Amy Updike is the Dispatcher. Brett Updike, is the safety Director. Adam Miller is the Maintenance Director.
LMT, Inc. pays per mile and hourly. Payroll is weekly and two weeks behind. Drivers are paid a flat fee to load and unload additional time over two hours is paid hourly. Our drivers average $52,000 to $72,000 a year. The higher wage is usually the Agriculture deliveries. It depends on what the driver wants to do. Drivers are dispatched by seniority. We have local, regional, and over the road work. Local work is determined by that you will be in the immediate area and home at night. Regional is determined by you will not be able to deliver the load and return to the terminal before you run out of hours of service, and must take your brake before returning to the home terminal. Over the road is gone for more than two days. We have Agriculture. The driver delivers herbicide all over the Eastern United States and you may be out for one to two weeks at a time. The local pays a lesser amount. The regional pays more and the over the road of pays the best.
The driver is responsible for per-trip and post-trip of the vehicle. You must be on time at the customer to load and on time to deliver.
All drivers are expected to abide by DOT regulations. You do not run over weight , over hours, or with unsafe equipment. There are four safety meetings a year that you are expected to attend. You are paid to attend these meetings. If you do not attend meetings you watch the recorded safety meetings without pay. Drivers are usually given some gift at each meeting. Like a company shirt, cap, or other items.

After the ninety (90) day probation period the drivers receive health insurance paid 100% by the company. Currently the coverage is a 80/20 plan with a $25,000 life insurance policy.
LMT, Inc. driver receives one week (five days) and sick leave (3). This is accumulated weekly after the 90 day probation period.
LMT, Inc. is purchasing additional new trucks each year.
LMT, Inc. requires two (2) years verifiable tractor/trailer experience and you must be 23 years or older. You must have a clean or low point CDL with X endorsement.
You must complete the application. Pass a physical, background, and drug screen test and complete the training program.
First you will view safety films to include Hours of Service, Driver Fatigue, HM 126 and HM 181, The Effect of Drugs and Alcohol and Air Brakes.
You must pass a written test.
You then train on loading and unloading tank trailers. For training we use a multi-compartment tank substituting water for the chemical you will deliver. You will learn how to load and unload products safely. This will be the most important part of your job.
After the trainer is assured that you can load and unload the product safety with confidence you will train in a truck.
You will be assigned a trainer and go with the trainer on some deliveries. These deliveries are usually local. You will observe where the trainer goes and what he does. After a few deliveries you will go with the trainer, but you will do the on hands work of loading and unloading deliveries under the watchful eye of the trainer. Only until you and the trainer is confident that you are ready to do the work on your own will you be released to work on your own.
